The washer will load with water, then nothing happens. I have replaced the timer. The tub spins freely. The ceramic fuse 12A 250V is blown open. I can get a replacement fuse for less than $4 but will it just blow again? Must the entire circuit board (Speed Control Unit) be replaced just because the fuse is blown? I have checked the resistance (ohms) of the motor...spec say it should read 2.6 plus/minus 7% which is 2.78-2.42. All my motor reading were 3.0-3.1 ohms. Does that mean the motor is good.
What further testing can I do, or what should I replace?

I would think your motor is ok, and that your readings are within the sampling error limits on your meter.

Go ahead and replace the fuse, and see if that fixes things. If it continus to blow you will probably have to replace the speed control board.

Here is a service manual that will discuss your problem.

Thanks for the service manual. Speed control board is on order. Will let you know how installation goes. I did replace the fuse and it blew. Areas of discoloration on printed circuit board. Thanks again............Jay

Sounds very much like a new speed control board will fix things, let us know how it turns out.

Received the 'used' board from ******** yesterday. Installed it today (Sunday) and it's going through the cycling as I write. So far so good.
After receiving diagnosis' of door switch and timer, I've finally REALLY discovered the problem.

Thanks for you help. I suggest that anyone else having this problem, BEFORE anything else, pull the circuit board and check if for signs of overheating (charring). Once the back panel is off, two electrical connectors and two screws are all required to remove.

Great, glad to hear that it is working. The speed control board on that model is a real weak link, and fails regularly.

Thanks for the update and good luck going forward.
