Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

My Whirlpool washer did the same thing and I was told it was the motor coupling. I took the old one off and it was broken, new one was 25.00 at a local appliance repair shop, cheaper online though. Don't know if this would be the same for fix for a GE appliance.

GE and Whirlpool washers are absolutely different.

What is the model number of your washer?

Default Gene- please help!

dwhdrr418goww model
GE lg capacity washer. same deal wan't spin or agitate. took off bottom and that big belt looks good. took off front and led light says motor is good- green light flashes on and off every sec.
seems like the bucket moves around a lot, but maybe that is normal... doesn't look like there are any loose pieces. it makes a noise during the wash cycle and spin cycle like it is trying, but just not happening... seems like it is not connected right to the bowl but this is probably not the case

The first thing I would do is check the lid switch for continuity.

just read an article written about testing continuity... i don't have meters or anything, so this may be beyond what i can do here! if so, thank you anyway!!

Does it drain?

If it does, remove the front panel and run the washer to see if the motor runs.

front loaders only last...5-6 yrs...and if center leaks...a $330 repair...just a few things I read about... everytime I went to the store to pick out a model...i'd come home and read a terrible blog. The Conventional machines are fine...unless you live in water saving states...

Default GE Front Loader won't spin/agitate

Looking for assistance...

Working with a GE WLSR3000G0WW front loader that won't spin or agitate. I get no LED lights on the motor inverter. I got 120 vac on the white/red line, 120 vac on the black/red line and 120 vac on the dk blue line. Continuity is present at the lid switch. I'm almost 100% positive I have a busted motor. Is there anything else I can check before I commit? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Richie

grau0201,

According to the model number you posted this washer is a top load.

Have you tested the fuse as described above?

Gene, thanks for the reply...

I inspected the fuselink like you had indicated in previous posts and it appears to be intact. 120 vac is present on the white/red wire which I believe is input power to the motor. The motor doesn't make a sound and I didn't see a light which lead me to believe the motor was bad. Thoughts?
