Will it be likely that, when replacing the transmission in this GE washer, I should need a new tub bearing, coupling, air bell screw and hub nut? Or, will just the xmission do the job?

You need the tranny, tub seal, and hub nut, that will do. The only reason you would need to replace the coupling is if it is stripped.
