I live in France and my son Matthew purchased a spare part for my whirlpool washer from Appliance Parts Pros. Order number 359686, Timer control.

I remover the old timer and then I tried to fit the new timer to the console panel using the same screws that fastened the old timer on. I realised that the holes into which the screws fitted were not threaded, so there was no way to fasten the part on.

Is it possible to fit this part or is it the wrong part and should be returned?

Here are the details of the washer and spare part:
Whirlpool washer model number 3LAS5800XSWO
Part; Timer control
Part number AP2906659
FSP number; old part 3348570
FSP number; new part 3355919A
