After the spin cycle the clothes are still wet (not dripping.) spin cycle works. The wife says she can smell a "burnt plastic" after the spin cycle when the top is open. The washer is 5 years old.

Appliance repair guy came out and replaced the pump (there were metal shavings everywhere from the old one). That definitely fixed the original problem, but ever since, the clothes are not as dry as they should be at the end of the spin cycle. There is even some water left in the bottom of the tub (Maytag MAV408DAWW rev 10). Any ideas?

I would check the hoses connected to the pump, or even better call this guy back and have him double check what ever he did. I do not think you have to pay him again if it was just recently.
