Washer is noisy when spinning and black grease is getting on clothes
Model Number: 417.42052100 Brand: Sears Age: 5 - 10 years
My Sears front load washer has been getting very noisy when it is in the spin mode and recently we have been getting a black greasy substance on the clothes. Any help to identify what part needs to be replaced is appreciated. Thanks.

It is hard to diagnose a noise without being there to heart. These models often have a failure of the rear bearing, which means replacing the entire rear tub assembly, which means it is usually prohibatively expensive, which means usually a new machine. The black grease may mean other problems also.
