Hello,

My 9 year old Maytag washer PAV2200AWW has started to make a clicking noise during the spin cycles this past week. Based on my observations it seems to be only happening in the beginning of the spin cycles and only with a heavy load (I have not monitored every load). My search results show me that I possibly need a new drain pump. I also plan to replaces the belt while I am at it.

I am seeking feedback on if that is the correct approach to this issue and also feedback on the 2 different parts I find listed as replacements:

1) Drain pump assembly - 2 port pump. Includes pulley.
Part Number: AP3447809 made by MAYTAG

2) Drain pump assembly - This pump mounts directly to base of the washer. Mounting plate is not needed.
Part Number: AP3873289 made by MAYTAG

I am planning on purchasing #1, but only because I think it looks more like what I have. The problem is that I am not sure what the difference is between them. Can anyone explain the differences, if there are any?

Thanks...
