Model Number: SM9710804A Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
I'm having a spin problem, that is the machine shakes badly during the spin cycle. It does not matter if it is a heavy load or a light load. The machine is on solid concrete and well balanced.
However, the tub and attached motor/mechanisms together have more play than I would expect. I have searched some posts that tend to indicate the possible need for a "tub alignment," but I have been unable to find and advice or instructions on how this is accomplished. I've checked the springs they are present (3 lateral and 1 vertical) and attached. There is a "plate" between the bottom of the tub and the motor that appears to be what the tub should be aligned to, but I'm not certain how to align it. BTW, this started happening after laying the machine on its side and transporting it to my new apartment. Any help/suggestions/or parts diagrams would be greatly appreciated !! thanks !!! Well, transporting it on its side will do this.
It may be as simple as getting the tub correctly on the base plate, but I would replace the springs and in the process make sure the tub assembly floats on the supports. The springs can be damaged without that damage being visible. If you need more help, check your model number because the one you posted does not seem correct. See if the model number starts with 110
