I have ordered a replacement belt for machine. Orginal belt is a 8540348. Whirlpool has changed part number and the belt they send is at least a inch shorter. There is no way I can stretch this belt over drum and pulley.
I have tried allternate suppliers and have the same replacement belt shown as proper replacement.

The replacement belt is measured as 2inches short of pulley when wrapped around drum maging it 4 inchs too short.

Only one way to put on and can't think of anything I might be doing wrong

The replacement part number should be the same, but call APP on Monday and talk with them about the problem. The belt just "rolls" on so you should not have any problem getting it on if it is the right size.
