I took the transmission out of my Frigidaire washer because it was spinning but not agitating. the motor free spins in either direction. Once i got the transmission out i checked to see if it would rotate in either direction. it will only rotate in one direction. Should it rotate in both directions?

The transmission pulley should move in both directions. If it does not, then the transmission has to be replaced.
