Amana DLW330RAW washer

After the tub fills the water shuts off abruptly and the hot water pipes began banging loudly and water starts squirting out of the vacuum relief valve attached to the hot water bib.

Pipes keep banging until I turn the handle to shut off hot water to the washing machine. Washing machine then continues to funtion normally until the next time we try to wash clothes.

Seems to be only on the hot water side.

Tried replacing the vacuum relief valve on the hot water bib and that did not solve the problem.

Any ideas?
