Default Maytag spins rinses and drains but clothes wet
Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

Our Whirlpool 7 cycle/2 speed washer has started leaving clothes wet although it runs through the spin/rinse/drain cycle seemingly fine...except the rinse water keeps rinsing until the spin has stopped, then shuts off.

Default Look into the pump

Check to see if anything is in the pump. If the water sprays continuously till the end of the cycle then naturally the clothes will be wet. It may be that the timer is messed up Does it do it in all cycles?

Talking Timer vs. Pump

Yes, it is the same in all cycles. Timer was my first guess. I'll have to figure out where the pump is, huh? Thanks.

Default the pump mounts on the motor

remove the cabinet by flipping up the control panel and umplugging this lid switch connection right here:a lid-switch-unplug.jpgPOP them purty brass S clips with a long flat blade and remove the cabinet. The pump and other innards of interest will be revealed.
