Default Maytag Washer
Model Number: LAT8426AAE   Brand: Maytag   Age: More than 10 years

The drum spins when the agitator is working, which throws the water out of the drum when it is in the wash cycle. Could it be the transmission, is there a brake that is hanging up(you can hold the drum from spinning), or any ideas?

I figured it out after a lot of thought, I replaced the brake assembly on the bottom of the unit and it works great. The brake was about $75 and took about 30 min. to replace.
