Model Number: FAV680AWQ Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a Maytag topload washer that when it goes into the spin cycle the machine makes a clicking sound. The tub will spin when empty but if there are clothes in it it will not spin and gives a code UC. It started making a loud noise when it went into the spin cycle, now the unit will not spin with a few clothes in it. Anyone have had a simular problem, and what repairs are needed?

David,
Very common problem with the FAV6800A and the FAV9800A as this post goes into. If you are handy a want to DIY take a read of this post Maytag Neptune load unbalance I'm and owner of the FAV6800A and have worked most issues with the machine. I feel it’s a very easy machine to work on. It has issues as all machines do but they can be worked thru to resolution. What are the first two digits of your Serial Number? It will be 10 thru 17. If you want to dig in I will help you every step of the way....Dick |
