I have replaced the coupler on my washer, but it is still making a constant, not very loud but distinct, high pitch whine. Not so much a grind as a whine. What do I check for next? It washes fine (spins, drains, etc.), it just makes this noise whenever the basket or agitator moves, and it is more distinct on spin. TIA Whirlpool Estate TAWX700JQ1

If it's a whine whenever the motor starts, I would pull the motor out, leave it connected electrically, and see if it still whines when it runs. If so, look fore something stuck in the motor, like a busted coupler piece. Also, make sure the coupler end pieces are fully driven in.

Only makes noise during motion. It makes steady noise. How far should the coupler be seated? I was told only until the shaft was even with the face.

In fact, there was no change to sound at all after I change the coupler. The only different notice was that the agitator moves better now, per the Mrs.
