Washer Repair

Last night out washer overflowed. We discovered that the water is not shutting off. THe spin cycle works and drains. What can cause this problem and how easy is it to fix?

My husband raised the top of our washer and discovered a hose had come off. He replaced the hose and the problem is solved. It is had not been for this forum I would have never had an idea as to what the problem could have been.

The hose nvinyard is refering to is the pressure switch hose, a clear rubber hose that goes from the pressure switch to the tub. If this hose is cut, clogged or disconnected from either spot the water will never shut off.
