washer problems

Model Number: LAT9356AAE Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years

The washer goes through all cycles normally until it reaches spin. At that point it only pumps out the water and the basket does not turn. All of the water goes out of the tub but the clothes are wringing wet. I also notice a hot smell during the spin cycle. As a side note, I just replaced the drive belt and the water pump belt. Any ideas?
