stacked washer dryer

Model Number: LSE7806ADE Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years

The control knob for the washer has popped off and I cant find out how to put it back on.
What it looks like what happened was that when the knob popped off,.the bar that the knob fits on to popped out exposing a nylon/plastic threading around the bar which keeps the knob from fitting on. What do we have to do to get the bar back into place.
