My single-peice agitator is giving me troubles...
I took off the cap to watch the agitator work with the shaft and although the shaft turns perfectly fine, the agitator isn't catching so it squeaks and barely turns.

As far as I could see, there are no teeth, it's rubber against rubber but there is a place right at the top that looks like teeth could fit in but there's no part to put in it, a cap just covers it...does this sound right or is my washer a frankenstein with wrong or missing parts? (I did buy this through craigslist for $25)

Any help is appreciated!

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.

That definitely is the model number. It was made for Sears Canada. http://www.appliance411.com is the only website that has been able to tell me that my washer exists and says it was built in either June 1989 or March 2002 (definitely not March 2002).

This is not a surprise to me because appliance411 located in Canada. I thought it is a Canadian model and just wanted you to confirm it. The major problem is that Sears did not publish any technical information for such products. No diagrams and/or parts lists.

It's rather rare, but you may have a bad agitator. I would remove it, 7/16 bold under the agitator cap and look for stripped teeth inside the agitator.
If ok, I would pull the pump and motor, turn the tranny coupler counterclochwise till the tranny engages. If the spindle will not turn while turning the coupler, you have a bad tranny.
