Help! Is there a trick to getting the selector knob off of my ge washer?
It seems to be broken(or the timer knob skirt is broken)I'm not sure what part to order & how to get it off to see what the problem really is. ( It very easily spins without resistance.) It logically seems to me that this may be a commom problem Ads By Google Related Models |

Hello Badfish 66 & thank you for that info. I did get the knob off, and then the keeper fell into the washer and I can't find it. It does not look like anything is broken. Could it be that the keeper just slipped out of place, or that the small protrusions that the knob fits into are stripped?
(the whole problem is that I have to hold & turn the timer shaft along with the knob to start a load of clothes.) Thanks again. |

if your just replacing the knob and keeper, you don't have to remove anything. just put the keeper on the knob just enough so it stays on without it sliding down the groove, put the knob on the timer shaft, then push the keeper in place.
