The lid switch is definitely bad and has to be replaced without any additional tests. Hopefully the new lid switch will fix all problems.

I have replaced the lid switch, and my washer is working fine again. After removing the cabinet, I did not remove the switch because I was looking for information on how to bypass the lid switch after unplugging it. When I removed the lid switch from the cabinet, I noticed it was cracked, probably from years of banging the lid on the switch

. Now everyone in the household has received training on how to properly close the lid after opening it!

I'm glad to hear it's up and running. Hopefully with such training

it will last much longer.
