Maytag Neptune Leak at Dispenser
Model Number: MAN8700AWW Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
Our Maytag Neptune has started leaking from the detergent despenser area. It seems to be backing up as the water is added. Water flows to the washer, but backs up and overflows.

Had the same problem with our machine - through an error, found the leak was due to a clogged, small, plastic screen filter located in the cold water hose attached to the back of the washer. Removed the filter, cleaned it, placed back in hose and reattached hose to washer: End of 3 month old leak. Just to make the process easier, also placed a hose filter in the end attached to the cold water faucet so that I don't have to pull the washer so far from the wall.
Am now committed to checking and cleaning that filter several times a year.
