Update bailed out water tried again to go from rinse to spin timer knob makes clicking sound watched motor tries to engage, is it the knob?

Remove the belt and check how freely the pump pulley and the transmission pulley are moving in both directions. Post the results.

Transmission pulley moves freely both directions
Pump pulley only freely to right not at all to the left

The pump is the culprit. No doubt about it.
