Model Number: TAWX700JQ1 Brand: Estate Age: 5 - 10 years
I washed several loads of clothes yesterday. This morning I put a load in, it filled up then started agitating, but it was making a kind of screaching sound, then it stopped. When it stopped, I could hear it try to start then quit, it sounded like it was straining. I kept playing with the know to try to get it to pump the water out, and I could hear an electrical humming sound in the knob whenever I would turn it on. It did spin the drum fast even with it full of water. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Can you tell us exactly what is happening now? It sounds like you are saying that it will not agitate, but if you move the dial manually it will start to spin without draining? Is this correct?
A detailed description of how it is operating will help us give some advice. Thanks

You are right, thats what it is doing. And when I was turning the dial to try to find the spot where it drains out the water, the dial would make an electrical clicking/humming sound, and it sounded like the drum was straining to turn but couldn't. But as I said before, when I got to the spin cycle, it spun the drum full of clothes and water

Ok, let's start by taking off the cabinet and then taking off the pump and checking it out. Look for blockage in the pump and/or drain hoses inside the machine or damage to the pump. Note: if it sill has water in it it will come out all over when you disconnect the pump, so be prepared.
