My Kenmore front loader (mdl 417.40042990) goes off balance on the high spin cycle. It is bouncy on the regular spin cycle but high speed ,it is just about bouncing off the side walls and front to back and a thumping noise that i can not find. I have had the shock absorbers (2) and the top springs (2) replaced, but NO success. Also, when we leave the machine for a couple of days it gets a mold smell even with the door open.Any help on either problem?
Thanks.

Hi bersie

Most likely the problem with your washer is a worn out rear bearing. It's not available separate and comes as a rear shell assembly.
Open the door and try to move the inner basket up and down, and from side to side. If it moves a lot no doubts the problem is the rear bearing.

- The part number for the new rear shell (outer tub) assembly AP2578105

Good luck.
Gene.
