I just bought a Roper washing machine from someone off craigslist. they said everything worked fine, and they used it the other day. I got it home and it worked fine, the cycles all ran and i did a few loads. Then this morning I went to do a load and i got nothing. No power from the button, but when I put my power tester to the cables, i'm getting power all the way to the timer. Maybe the switch is broken? Just seems odd that it just stoped working all together all off a sudden.
I do hear what sounds like water in the machine itself. Could that be the reason?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I only paid $100 for the washer, and i saw the timing switch (part #AP3607885) is more then what i paid.

Easier fix?
thanks!

Check the lid switch (#11 on the diagram). If it's broken, the washer would not do anything.
