The hub in my Amana washing machine (LWD973W / P1110502WW) disentegrated (I'm shocked this machine continued running for the past few weeks given the condition of the hub). I have it disassembled down to the large 1 1/2" nut (AP4048356 I believe). I do not have a wrench to remove this and before I bother trying to get one, is there a trick to removing this nut? Is a special wrench required? Is it even worth getting the hub & seal kit (AP4253981) and trying to repair this model of washer given its age? Everything else seems to be in decent working condition with this washer.

I think that is too much money (and too much time and you possibly need special tools)to put into a washer that is this old. Get a nice, new, no frills top load machine and you will I think be much happier.
