I've got a Kenmore front-loader that won't go into it's Max spin, regardless of what spin setting it is on. It agititates with no problem, and every other cycle seems to be working no problem. It drains fine, and I even checked the drain filter to ensure there are no blockages. It does make a loud humming sound when it seems like it the spin cycle should be engaging. It does not hum or make any other sounds at any other point.

It's not even 2 years old yet...Any thoughts/ideas/help are much appreciated...

Can you post a full model number? There should be a "110" or "417" in front of the regular model number.

Look under the top and inside the lower service panel for some tech notes and see if you can do the troubleshooting procedures that are called for.

If you still need help post back with the complete model number and the results of your testing.

Ok, good

It looks like you have a version of the Whirlpool Duet Sport made for Sears and sold under the Kenmore Brand name.

Inside the lower service panel you should find tech notes that will show you how to put the machine into diagnostic mode and test for component problems. What you want to focus on is the CCU and the motor control board. It is likely the problem is in the motor control board but see if you can get some confirmation from the testing as it is an expensive part.

Here is tech sheet on a Whirlpool verson of your machine if you do not have the tech notes.

There is a real problem diagnosing these models, so in the end you may have to order in the part and replace it to see if that is your problem.
