Remove the screws at each frnt corner of the console and pivot the console up and back. It will hinge back up out of the way. Next, disconnect the lid switch connector in the middle of the cabinet just under the console. Now there are two clips steel and sometimes brass colored, at each of the corners of the cabinet. Press down on the clips, where they press into the cabinet and they will pop loose. Now you can rock the cabinet forward off the chassis to expose the lid switch. If you completely remove the cabinet, it is trickier to replace, but there are Youtube videos that can help you through the process.
