washer will do everything but spin what should i check?

Will the machine drain or agitate? If so your belt should be ok. You may want to check the lid switch, you can do this by running the machine on spin cycle, then connecting the two wires from the switch directly, this will bypass the switch. If this does not work, then you may have a faulty wigwag or broken wire to the wigwag. The wigwag is controled by a solenoid, and will shift up to engage for spin cycle. This just happen to me and in my case it was a broken wire.
