My older Kenmore washer is not getting power beyond the power cord at the harness plug-in itself.
I wonder if the timer could be bad and blocking out the power ?I don't even hear the timer running.
I have checked the power down at the water valve plug-in wires, and I can't get a reading.
This is a Kenmore model heavy duty from 1993,sorry I don't have exact model # since the body was swapped years ago. Thanks !

Assuming you have already checked the power outlet for 120VAC, is there any power from the cord to the timer? If so, then your timer is probably bad. A complete model number is necessary in order to suggest the proper timer replacement.

I know now that there's power to the timer since it gave me a good shock while unhooking the timer plug-in.
Yes I forgot the cardinal rule of unplugging the washer first. But there is power going to the timer, but none at any other connection.
So would the timer not allow power to everything else ?

Yes. The timer is the master switch for the rest of the machine.

Put timer and complete wire harness off another machine works fine.
Thanks for the replies :)
