Model Number: WSSH300G0WW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
My washer will wash and rinse, then when it goes to final spin, It spins one way a few times, stops and goes the other way a few times (it goes through this about four times in all), then just shuts off. A repair guy guy came out and said he thought it was the control board, I replaced that...and still nothing. Any idea's what could be wrong?

Which control board did you replace? And did the service tech go through any diagnostics before he or she made the suggestions? And did the tech tell you that you have a Frigidaire washer?
I am assuming you replaced the upper or main control board. The likely problem is the Speed or Motor Control Board, as that controls the motor and regularly fails on these machines. Here is a service manual that will allow you to do some testing, but if you cannot determine anything conclusive then at the end of the day I suggest you replace the MCU and see if that fixes things. You have what is called the "good" model so you get error codes from flashing lights. All is explained. http://frigidaireservicetips.com/pdf...isWasherSM.pdf

I just sat and watched it cycle, when it washes the tub isn't spinning very quick...then it gets to final spin and it shuts down about a minute in. I did the troubleshooting, The five LEDs flash four times, and the start button flashes twice. The code it gave is something to do with the door staying locked, but thats not what my problem is. You suggested the MCU, do you think that would still fix my problem? I just replaced the main control board, which the repairman said would fix it. Any ideas?

There is a major issue with front loaders in that when the wiring through the door lock assembly goes south, the machine does funny things in spin mode and the diagnostics may or may not pick it up.
From what you have described I would replace the door lock assembly and see if that fixes things. If it does not, the MCU is the next thing to try. Yeah, I know, this sounds like just changing out parts rather than an intelligent diagnosis. It is. Welcome to the world of front loaders and microprocessor controls. This is why the service techs have a truck full of parts when they visit. My feeling on using service techs is this. If you want to fix it yourself, try to do so without professional help. If you decide to call out a tech, then let them finish the job. Yes it is expensive but you have already paid for the initial visit and if it is a reputable company then you know that when they leave it will be repaired and the work guaranteed. Good luck, hope this helps.
