Model Number: S3500B1WW Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
My GE washer will not fill with water or spin. But it will agitate and drain. The timer works and I have a closed circuit when I tested the solenoids so they seem to be right. I check the belts on the tub and they are fine. I can move the tub by hand with the belt. There is no oil under the machine. The lid switch works.
It is almost like it thinks it has water already in it! Is there a switch/sensor that may be stuck and the machine believes water is already in it at the proper level? Thanks! Ads By Google Related Models |

The water level pressure switch is activated by air pressure. When the tub fills water goes into a plastic tube connecting the tub to the switch. This increases the pressure and ultimately triggers the swtich to tell the timer to stop letting water in.
It sounds like your switch is stuck in the "off" position. Start by cleaning out the tube and blowing into it a couple of times and see if you can make the switch work. If not, try changing out the switch, this part here. Part number: AP2045895

You are 100% right on the money. I discovered the tube, saw some lint in it, cleaned it out and it runs like a champ again!
Sure wish I had know about this before I purchased a replacement timer and spent a week at the laundrymat. Such an easy fix! Thanks again! Glenn |

Well, glad you got it working for no additional cost. Usually when the tube is the problem the machine overflows, so at least you avoided that.
Thanks for updating us, good luck going forward.
