The whirpool Duet drains but not continuously. I have cleaned out the pump trap. The pump drains but the water flow is not continuous it is cyclic as it pumps for 2 seconds --stops for two seconds--pumps for 2 seconds etc. I changed the belt and shocks last week, now this new problem has started

If you are certain there are no obstructions in the pump, trap and hoses then it sounds like your pump is failing and will need to be replaced.
