Was just changing hoses and the new hose shredded the threads on the plastic cold water inlet valve. Any suggestions?:(

i'm assuming the hose wont stay on the valve or will stay on but leaks correct?? the only fix for this is to replace the water valve but if the hose will stay on the valve and does not leak i would stick by the saying if it isnt broke dont fix it
