I have a kenmore model 11027632600 washer that wont rinse or dispense cold water. I have already replaced the water valve and it has sufficient water pressure. When you use the wash cycle it will only add hot water in the cool / warm / hot settings and wont fill in the cold setting. The rinse cycle is cold only so it wont work either. when it starts in the cold or on the rinse cycle it dispenses about 3 oz of water and "hammers" then freezes with an electric humm. What is the most likely problem and how would I test before ordering parts? My next guess would be either the timer or the temp switch but not sure. The water valve had wires for both solenoids and 2 leads that plugged into the valve just before it goes into the fill tube.

spoke with a local tech - said it may have something to do with the thermistor system on the machine - he hadn't worked on them but mentioned it was a big problem in winter in the colder parts of the country. Anyone have knowledge on how to troubleshoot the Thermistor system on this machine?
