My washer would not agitate after water fill unless I opened and slammed the lid. As of yesterday it refused to operate at all. Is this a Lid Switch and is it an easy repair?
Thanks for help

Sounds like the lid switch, and yes it is an easy and inexpensive repair. You can test out the theory first by by-passing it and seeing if the machine will work.

I believe you access it under the console. Here is the service manual that will show you how to get to it.

and here is the part

Yeah, I did it, and thank you very much for sending a link to the manual, I needed to read it cause I did not know how to open the control panel- that would be because I am a novice. For the cost of the part I have my 12 year old washer running again and I definitely owe my graditude to your help and instructions. I will be sure to use this site and contact you for the next apppliance question I have - just wish you would have all the answers to my household repairs:) ...................Deb J
