The washer would not run on regular /gentle cycle (works fine in heavy duty cycle) because the motor would trip on overload. Replaced the motor but it now growls from the area of the motor/gearbox area and then trips. The fact that it works fine in heavy duty cycle but not regular/gentle cycke is a bit puzzling. Is it possible for the brake to activate in the regular/gentle cycle? Thanks in advance for any help/info. krakerjak:confused:

Not sure with the model number,but if the washer has a selector switch[for different speeds]I ran into that switch being bad,it would be sending power to both motor speeds at one time.If you have a amperage meter it will show you both speeds and a high amperage draw.Replace the selector switch and it will solve your problem.

Been gone and just got back to this. I had thought about the switch being bad as the transmission changes speed when the motor changes speed. Your diagnosis is dead on. THANKS! krakerjak:) :) :)
