Default Washer wont work properly.
Model Number: WTW5830SW   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: Less than 1 year

Hi,

I moved to India and happened to bring the above washing machine along with me. Now, here i have a 220v to 110v step down transformer and the washing machine turns on, but...

1) The center tub wont rotate (only the center wand rotates)
2) This i think is causing the washing type selector to not work ie., when i select the "regular wash", the dial doesnt move at all.. because in a regular operation, the dial needs to move and then at some point has to choose rinse/spin and stop. This doesnt happen at all ;-)

Anyone know why this could be happening ? Suggestions..

Thanks,

-Sriram

Default

Washer from here in USA are built for 110 volt at 60 hertz, even though you used a step down transformer you might be operating at 50 Hertz, this change on sensative electronis may have caused it to burn up, also on 50 hertz it causes many items to get prematurely hot, and cause componet failure
