Default Cold/Cold will not work, all others do work!?
Model Number: WWXR4100T   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
Just bought a used GE washer, got it home, it worked great for one day, all temp settings, cold/cold; warm/warm; warm/cold; and hot/cold. Today, the cold/cold setting will not work. On cold/cold it will not fill, spin, anything. The other three settings still work fine. We replaced the hoses last night, but after inspection I do not believe the problem has anything to do with the hoses. Any suggestion? My wife thinks it is the "board" that needs to be replaced????

Also, during agitation, the front panel is getting hit by the inside parts and clacking very loud. I was able to quiet the unit done 100% by putting a sock under the front metal panel. Any thoughts on how to get the inside basin centered?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi MiniPants

Before I might be able to help you I need to know if your washer filled up with the cold water during the rinse cycle when you used warm/cold or hot/cold options?

Gene.

Hi Gene,

I'm having similar problem with washer cycle stopping when it is time for the cold water. Mine also stops during rinse. It is a Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 Series, Model 110.82671810, Serial C73217086. The cold water hose isn't clogged. How do I find out if it is the timer or something else?

Karen

In this case there is no doubt the problem is a bad water valve in your washer.

The part number for the new water mixing valve AP3094541

Good luck.
Gene.

Default How to replace Inlet Water Valve on Washer

Hi Gene,

Hate to bother you again, but how do you go about replacing the Inlet Water Valve on the Washer? Please keep in mind, I don't know anything about washers except how to get them going and stop them.

Thank you for your patience

Awesome Gene. You were right on with the water inlet valve. That was the problem. I bought the replacement part, but the two holes don't match up on the water inlet valve metal piece and the holes on the water inlet valve cover. I'm going to have to use big washer and make-do to get two screws to hold the water inlet valve to the cover. I can do it.
