Our washer won't spin. I have it apart and thought it was the motor until I did some research. Now I'm not sure if that's the problem or not. It sounds like it wants to spin but it won't. The motor is warm and hot so I know it's getting power. Everything spins fine when I spin the belt. I can not spin the pieces (I think it's the transmission, it has a counter weight on it) by hand, but again it's really easy by just using the belt. So after looking into some things maybe it's not the motor and it's the transmission or the clutch. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Generally on these if the motor will spin with the belt off then the problem is in the transmission or clutch. If the motor will not spin and is getting hot then the problem is likely in the motor.
