Timer is noisey, I know it needs a drop of oil in the timer motor,
but I can't figure out how to remove the knob to gain access.
There must be a clip, or trick to removal without breaking it.

On the back of the timer there should be a hole. Inside the hole is plastic tab. Reach into the hole with a small flat head screw driver and pull the plastic tab out. The knob will now come off.

Here is a service manual. Be very careful with oil around the timer; if it gets on the contacts you will not be happy.

Thank you for your help, I understand that most of these are sealed, but I will take care and be sparing with the oil. I figure if I can't oil it I will need to replace it soon anyway, so it is worth a try!! I really appreciate your warning also. Al
