I have a maytag washer everything work but when in spin cicle ,drains good but won't spin, can you help me with this problem Ricky

Does the motor run in spin?

Remove the belt and turn the tranny pulley in the spin direction. Brakes should release and tranny start to turn. If not, you have a worn thrust washer. You will need to buy the pulley and thrust washer kit and follow the directions, am not familiar with this repair, might want to re-post for more info. Also, sometimes if the housing gets wet from a leak, the brakes will stick. Sometimes if you tap on the brake housing while turning, they will release.

Thank you I,ll do that. But I the washer agitates good also I saw the pulley spining either in agitation or spin cicles. Ricky

Ricky I removed the belt and pulley turns free I did run the washer on spin cicle and started to spin but slow,after that i did run the washer on spin cicle several times and was agitating like it in agitation cicle:confused: Ricky

You might have a worn snubber if you see white shavings on the bottom of the washer.
