This washer was making a loud clicking noise and would not spin. I replaced the clutch assembly but the clicking noise remains. The washer started washing for a few minutes but then the clicking started and it stopped. It may have been going into the spin cycle. It sounds like a solenoid but I have searched your parts and can't find one one the parts list.

Any ideas?

I would suspect your motor is cutting out. IF it goes away in high speed, definitely your motor.To verify, pull the belt off the motor and turn the tranny pulley to spin the basket. If hard to turn, you have bad spin bearings.

Richappy: Thanks for your reply. It does appear to be the motor. I removed the belt and ran the motor without a load. It runs for a second and then cuts off and then restarts. Over and over. The run winding is apparently burned out or the centrifugal switch to kick it into the run winding has failed. Thus the click each time it trys to switch over. The motor at $200 + is not worth it. Thanks for the response.

Yes GE has designed an overpriced, non repairable motor for this. You might want to get a used motor on ****, otherwise, get a good Whirlpool direct drive washer.
