Default will not spin
Model Number: 70 series 110.20702   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

This my first post...hope it works. My problem is as follows:
Washer will fill, washer will agitate, washer will pump out, washer will fill for rinse, washer will pump out, then it will not spin...it just sits there making the correct noise but the tub is not spinning. I can raise the lid and then shut it and it will spin normally. If I do not catch this part of the cycle in time and come back after the cycle has completely stopped...I can turn the timer to spin, raise and lower the lid and it will spin correctly. I have replaced the lid switch.
Is the problem the coupler?
Summary: Cycle works fine til the point of spinning...no spin til you open and closed the lid. Problem is on all cycle types...ie. regular, delicates, perm press.

Most likely the problem with your washer is a bad timer.

- The part number for the timer is AP3114923

Default Thanks Gene!!

Even though raising and lowering the lid will cause the washer to spin correctly, your best bet is still the timer? While the washer is in the spin mode with the motor running, I can walk over and raise and lower the lid and it will then start to spin and finish out correctly. Your expertise denotes timer. Thanks.

Due to your washer has a neutral drain transmission, it should stop for a few seconds during the drain to engage the spin. This stop interval operates by timer, that's why the timer has to be replaced.
