Frigidare washer overflows on full load only. Small and meduim loads work OK. Pulling the plug does not stop flow. I have to shut off water supply. Is this a pressure switch or water valve problem (or both)?

Water valve for sure if it doesn't stop when you remove power. Hope this helps!

But, why does the water stop when the water level is set to Small and Medium loads? I fiddled a little more, and the problem only occurs on the cold water shut off when the water level is set for Full loads.

When you pull the plug and it still runs water you rule out everything but the water valve.
