Model Number: LA7800XSWO Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
Ok.... We are mechanically inclined and can not afford a new Washer... so... What do I do first?
The washer is doing everything except spraying water into the spinning tub when it is rinsing. I wish I had noticed years ago if it comes from the same source as the fill line. I have dogs and cats and sometimes a lot of dog hair can end up in the wash. So... First I check to see if the line is clogged??? It is not spilling out onto the flore. I can hear the ticking sound it usually makes just not spray. Also, I have unplugged it for 30 seconds and tried again and it is still broken. I am about to start pouring water on to the clothes myself during the spin cycle.... Do these Washers have computers modules or something... It has been terrific washer. I will try to print the diagrams found on this web site to begin to take it apart. Thank you for your help! Wishing you the best! Ads By Google Related Models |

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LA7800XSW0 | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the wiring diagram http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%203351745.pdf And a manual which should be useful https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...$FILE/L-55.pdf The washer is doing everything except spraying water into the spinning tub when it is rinsing. I wish I had noticed years ago if it comes from the same source as the fill line. Yes it will come from the same place. Do these Washers have computers modules or something... They use a mechanical timer First check that the unit will fill with hot, warm and cold. This tells you that the water temperature switch is OK and both valve are OK. If OK it sounds like a timer problem. You could confirm this by unplugging the unit and using a meter to check the timer contacts (do they close when they should) using the timing chart and manually turning the dial.

Dear Denmen:
Im still working up to it. I have been trying to wash everthing we will need for the coming week. I am using a hose attached to the hot water heater and a stock pot full of water carefully applied at the first few seconds of the spin cycle. We have been watching the machine in all phases.... like watching water to see it boil .. only boiling water is faster. Ah.... I did notice that even though I will rinse in this process 4 times I still get soap in the machine. I saw some coming up as the water came up through the little hole in the agitator base. I really need to clean the dog hair out of the lint filter. The problem of no water rinse during spin is still there but the filters must have a cake of soap on them. I almost want to buy the new timer before he takes it apart to check connections that leads to the pump. Something about checking the solenoids? Now the weekend is almost here and I will not be able to get the part to next week. Can you tell me how to clean out the inside of the machine? Thank you for all your help. Best regards, Tommy and Jeanie |

Dear Denman:
Again, Thank you. We just replaced the timer and the rinse water sparkled like Waterford Crystals against my soapy clothes. Although I still wish to take the basket out and clean the dog hair or what is holding the soap underneath, my "right arm" argues that there is no filter underneath. Ahhhh.... Well I am grateful it is working well. "Here is two another 20 Years with my Whirlpool Washer." My god bless her little rusty inner-eds. Thank you again! Jeanie |
