My washer motor is having difficulty starting a spin cycle even with an empty tub. The centrifugal switch will open and close several times (with the motor jumping around) and then finally run normally.

Is there some way to tell if this is a problem with the external electrical start switch or somethng in the motor itself?

Thanks

Replace the motor.
