we have a Kenmoreultra fabric care heavy duty 80 series washer that will fill with water, but that is it. When it is advanced in the cycle to spin it makes a humming noise, but nothing else. Otherwise it will not spin, agitate, or drain. Would really appreciate some advice or thoughts on what might be wrong. Thanks.

Normally your problem would indicate a coupling, but since it will not drain I think it is likely you have an obstruction in your pump or drain hoses.

Check that out. If that is not the case then your transmission or brakes are likely the problem.
