No agitate, spin or drain. humming sound
Model Number: 24962300 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
We have a Kenmore Elite washer that will fill with water, but that is it. When it is advanced in the cycle to spin it makes a slight humming noise, but nothing else. Otherwise it will not spin, agitate, or drain. Also, it does have a hot smell to it. Would really appreciate some advice or thoughts on what might be wrong. Thanks.

Take off the cabinet and see if something is stuck in the pump, the basket or the drain hoses.
If they check out, take off the pump and motor and see if the motor is free and will turn when the machine is in the spin mode. You will need to by pass the lid switch to check that out.
